Home Team Projects News Facilities Codes Publications Seminars Contact Advancing engineering through Materials Research Our projects We are based within the James Watt School of Engineering, making internationally leading contributions in design, synthesis and manufacturing of polymer composites, light-weight alloys and important construction materials including concrete. We have a broad scope of expertise, with 12 academics and around 20 researchers and PhD students. An implicit goal in much of our research is sustainability, through for example, light-weighting, recycling and reduced CO2 synthesis and manufacturing. ​An important underpinning philosophy behind our research is that of Integrated Computational Materials Engineering, linking materials and manufacturing processes at multiple length scales, to better understand and control the process-properties-performance relationship. We work closely with the Glasgow Computational Engineering Centre and have a wide range of facilities
